CMMC Level 2 Score Calculator

Assess all 110 NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 2 requirements using the CMMC 1-, 3- and 5-point deduction methodology—and identify gaps that may block Conditional status.

110 maximumAll 110 requirements assessed MET
–203 minimumPossible under weighted deductions
88 thresholdNecessary, but not sufficient, for Conditional status

How the estimated score works

The calculator begins at 110 and deducts the regulatory value of each requirement marked NOT MET. N/A is treated as MET for scoring, but applicability must be supportable.

Why the score is not the whole answer

A result of 88 or higher does not automatically create Conditional status. Remaining gaps must be POA&M-eligible, and all permitted POA&Ms must be closed within 180 days.

Do not enter sensitive information: this tool requests status selections only. Do not provide CUI, FCI, credentials, evidence, network details or vulnerability information. Your selections stay in this browser until you choose to unlock your result; at that point your contact details and a summary of the result are sent to VigilON (see the privacy notice).

CMMC Level 2 scoring questions

How is the CMMC Level 2 score calculated?

The assessment starts at 110. For each NOT MET requirement, 1, 3 or 5 points are deducted under 32 CFR §170.24. A negative score is possible.

Is a score of 88 automatically Conditional Level 2?

No. A score of at least 88 is necessary, but remaining gaps must also be eligible for a POA&M under 32 CFR §170.21.

Can every Level 2 requirement be placed on a POA&M?

No. Requirements worth more than one point are generally ineligible, with a limited exception for partially effective FIPS encryption. Six specifically named one-point requirements are also ineligible.

Is this calculator an official assessment?

No. It is an educational estimator. Official status depends on the applicable assessment, scope, evidence, affirmation, SPRS submission and, where required, C3PAO assessment.
